Forte Power Systems can manufacture XLPE-insulated HV

cables to meet almost any application requirement.

　 (March 4, 1999) - Forte Power Systems has successfully type tested a high stress XLPE insulated Extra High Voltage

cable at 230kV level according to the draft IEC standard for solid dielectric HV cable above 150kV. The cable underwent

40 heat cycles at a maximum of 130 degrees C conductor temperature as opposed to 20 heat cycles at 105 degrees C.

Forte Power Systems is the only cable manufacturer in North America who can supply this HV product. This test also

underlines the outstanding quality of all Forte HV cables from 69kV up. The tested cable is a 1500 kcmil copper XLPE

insulated cable with 800mils of insulation and a welded and corrugated copper sheath.
